Understanding Our Position
ASTM Reference:
What We Mean
When HaloCors references ASTM standards in product discussions, we are referring to the published standard as a reference framework -- not claiming that our products have been independently tested, approved, or certified against that standard.
ASTM F2913 (Standard Test Method for Measuring the Coefficient of Friction for Evaluation of Slip Resistance of Footwear and Test Surfaces) is commonly referenced by buyers sourcing grip socks for medical or safety-sensitive environments. We can discuss this standard in the context of your product requirements and help you prepare samples suitable for testing.
Language Clarity
HaloCors does not hold pre-issued ASTM test reports or third-party certifications. Any testing must be commissioned by the buyer through their nominated lab using samples we supply.
What We Can Do
We can produce test samples to your specification, provide material and construction data to your lab, and participate in the communication process to ensure the test samples accurately represent the production product.
Relevant Reference Standards
| Standard | Reference Context |
|---|---|
|
ASTM F2913 Slip Resistance |
Coefficient of friction for footwear slip resistance. Commonly referenced for medical non-slip and safety-critical grip socks. |
|
AATCC 61 Wash Fastness |
Colorfastness to laundering. Referenced by buyers requiring wash durability documentation for repeated-use grip socks. |
|
EN 13832 EU Footwear (Reference) |
European standard for footwear used in chemical environments. Some EU buyers reference this for non-slip sock documentation discussions. |
|
OEKO-TEX Std 100 Chemical Safety (Reference) |
Restricted substance limits for textiles. Frequently requested by EU buyers. We can support sample submission to your nominated OEKO-TEX accredited lab. |
|
REACH / CPSIA Chemical Compliance |
EU REACH and US CPSIA chemical restrictions. We provide material composition data to support your compliance screening process. |
All standards listed are reference frameworks only. Formal compliance must be verified through accredited third-party testing commissioned by the buyer.

How It Works
Third-Party Testing
Cooperation Process
A clear, step-by-step overview of how we work with buyers to facilitate third-party testing from initial inquiry through to lab submission.
Buyer Shares Testing Requirements
You share the specific testing standard, test method, and any lab requirements with us. This includes the standard reference (e.g. ASTM F2913), the test surface conditions, and any specific performance thresholds you need the product to meet.
We Review and Discuss Product Suitability
We review your requirements and discuss which product construction, grip material (silicone or PVC), and grip pattern layout would be most relevant to your intended test parameters. We do not guarantee test outcomes but can advise based on product knowledge.
Spec Confirmation and Sample Production
Once the product specification is confirmed, we produce test samples to exact specification -- including material, construction, grip layout, and size. Test sample production typically takes 7-10 business days.
Documentation Package Prepared
We prepare a documentation package to accompany the samples: product spec sheet, material composition declaration, construction notes, and any internal reference data relevant to the test scope. This is provided to support your lab submission, not as a substitute for formal testing.
Samples Shipped to Buyer or Lab
Test samples are shipped directly to you or to your nominated third-party laboratory. We can provide tracking and commercial invoice documentation for customs clearance if shipping internationally.
Post-Test Follow-Up and Production Alignment
After testing, we review results with you. If adjustments to the product are needed to better meet your requirements, we work through the specification with you before confirming bulk production. Our goal is a stable, production-consistent product aligned with your compliance needs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Testing & Compliance FAQ
Direct answers to the questions buyers most commonly ask about testing, documentation, and compliance support.
Do your products already have ASTM certification or test reports?
No. HaloCors does not hold pre-issued ASTM certifications or standing third-party test reports. We are a manufacturing partner, not a certified product supplier. Any formal testing must be commissioned by the buyer through their nominated accredited laboratory, using samples we produce to your specification.
Can you guarantee that your products will pass ASTM F2913 testing?
We cannot guarantee specific test outcomes. ASTM F2913 results depend on the specific test surface, test conditions, and the threshold your buyer or end-use application requires. We can discuss product construction options that may be relevant to your testing context, but formal outcomes must be determined through independent laboratory testing.
Which testing laboratories do you have experience working with?
We have cooperated with buyers using SGS, Intertek, and Bureau Veritas for textile and footwear testing. We are open to working with any buyer-nominated accredited laboratory. We provide samples and documentation as required by the lab's submission protocol.
Who pays for third-party testing?
Third-party testing costs are typically borne by the buyer, as the buyer commissions and owns the test results. HaloCors covers the cost of producing and shipping test samples to your lab. If you have specific cost-sharing questions for your project, we can discuss on a case-by-case basis.
Can you support REACH compliance documentation for EU buyers?
We can provide material composition declarations and sourcing information to support your REACH pre-screening process. For formal REACH compliance testing, we can produce samples for submission to your nominated EU-accredited laboratory. We do not issue REACH declarations of conformity independently.
How long does it take to receive test samples?
Test sample production typically takes 7-10 business days after specification is confirmed. Shipping time to EU or North America varies by courier and service level -- typically 5-10 additional business days via express courier. We can provide DHL or FedEx tracking upon dispatch.
Can you support medical-grade or FDA-regulated product development?
We can support buyers exploring medical or regulated market channels on a case-by-case basis. This includes producing test samples, providing material documentation, and participating in compliance communication. FDA regulatory pathway requirements are the buyer's responsibility to determine. We do not hold FDA clearance or 510(k) status for any products.
Will bulk production match the tested samples exactly?
Production consistency is a core priority. We maintain confirmed specifications in writing and apply QC at incoming material, in-line production, and final inspection stages. Before bulk production begins, we confirm the production spec matches the approved test sample. Any deviations require buyer approval before proceeding.
